Having been a bandleader myself, stories of great musicians recording
for Muzak are endlessly fascinatiing, which leads to a question, Has Muzak
considered releasing or licensing some of the early cuts to be sold to the
public on CD's or other media? One would think that if the tracks are
old enough, they would not in any sense be competitive with todays
Muzak selections offered to subscribers now. Can someone address
this question? Thanks!

TO: Bruce McKagan. Muzak Archives Director

I've been trying to locate both information and transcriptions of the APS/Muzak TV Production music library which was available to TV stations in the early 1950s. I've been collecting recordings from background and mood music recorded libraries for over 30 years including many from England. There is not much information about this service other than an advertisement in a TV trade journal circa 1954.

Have you run across any information, such as catalogs or listings, which might enlighten me? I would be most appreciative for any help you can give me.

Regards,

Michael Lopen

Oh you are so right! The Galli Sisters are my cousins. i remember as a young girl listening to them sing at family gatherings and they had amazing voices, but not only did they have beautiful voices and beautiful faces they were, and are very giving, loving and beautiful people. Thank you for thoughts.

I had the wonderful privelege to work for Carolina Sound. CSC, Inc. is a wonderful company and the Perry's are the best. They take great pride in their work and their customers. I wish them and the company continued success.

Did you know that Dolly Galli - the youngest singer was the first choice for Dorothy in the Wizard Of Oz? She declined so as not to break up the trio. I choose the Galli Sisters by the way - I may be bias as I was best friends with Dolly's daughters in junior High and High School. Wonderful people!
